Patty Ruddick, RN, MSN, CS-FNP, is the Project Director for the West Virginia Regional Health Information Technology Extension Center (WVRHITEC). In this role, Patty directs WVMI’s day-to-day management and operations as a sub-recipient to the West Virginia Regional Extension Center’s Federal Grant and is responsible for direct assistance and education and outreach to health care providers.
Ms. Ruddick is also the Director of Patient Safety for WVMI and has a wealth of experience and knowledge in patient safety and health care quality improvement. In this capacity, she has directed many patient safety and health care quality projects and grants at WVMI and has performed research and training collaboratives in many areas of health care, including patient safety, rural health care, health information technology, and privacy and security.
Prior to coming to WVMI, Ms. Ruddick served as a Family Nurse Practitioner, a legal nurse consultant, a clinical nurse instructor, and a medical cost analyst/case manager. She began her career as a general staff nurse. Ms. Ruddick earned a BS in Nursing from Villanova University and an MS in Nursing from Marshall University.
