Information Security Officer earns coveted credential

2/23/2012

WVMI & Quality Insights Information Security Officer Scott Brannon in January became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). The designation requires successful completion of a comprehensive exam and a minimum of five years of full-time experience in information security.

The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)² governs the certification, which was the first information security credential to be accredited.
Security professionals who earn the credential develop policies and procedures regarding information security. They define the architecture, design, management and controls that assure the security of business environments.

The credential is a globally recognized standard of competence covering critical security topics such as cloud computing, mobile security, application development security, risk management and more. About 75,000 people in more than 100 countries have earned the CISSP designation.
