Marc McCombs, Director of Corporate Communications
As director of corporate communications for WVMI and its Quality Insights affiliates, McCombs is responsible for all corporate and program-level communication initiatives. He plans, implements and evaluates national, statewide and local efforts targeted to a broad range of audiences and directs a diverse and geographically dispersed staff whose expertise includes campaign development, coalition building, health education, media relations, video production, Web authoring, and graphic design. Recently McCombs oversaw marketing and communications related to a national campaign focused on reducing avoidable acute care hospitalizations. He also serves as Project Director for WVMI’s health-communications focused contracts and grants with state agencies and non-profit organizations.
Under his leadership, WVMI & Quality Insights communications initiatives have received numerous awards for health improvement campaigns and collateral materials. He is a past recipient of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Beneficiary Services Certificate of Merit.
Before joining WVMI, McCombs was a University instructor of communication arts and worked as a radio broadcaster and reporter. He earned an MA from the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism at Marshall University and a BA in Communication Arts from Concord University.
