Medicare Quality Improvement Organizations: The Right Care for Every Patient Every Time
For the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, WVMI and our wholly owned subsidiaries, Quality Insights of Pennsylvania and Quality Insights of Delaware, review and facilitate improvements in the care provided to Medicare consumers. As a "Medicare Quality Improvement Organization" contractor, we assist providers in adopting and implementing systems, redesigning processes, and developing an organizational culture that will accelerate the rate of quality improvement and broaden its impact. Most recently, we have been assisting physician offices with evaluation, selection and adoption of electronic health records. Finally as a QIO, we review medical records to check for medical necessity, appropriateness and quality of care.
Home Health QIOSC: Supporting the National QIO Program's Home Health Quality Improvement Efforts
In 2005, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services awarded Quality Insights a three year contract to serve as the national QIO program's Home Health Quality Improvement Organization Support Center (QIOSC). In this role, Quality Insights provides all QIOs with tools and resources used to collaboratively improve care in the nation's home health agencies. Quality Insights develops materials, reviews and disseminates best practices, and provides training opportunities for the home health community.
