Chief Medical Officer Participates in NQF Panel
Charleston, WV - John G. Brehm, MD, the Chief Medical Officer of the West Virginia Medical Institute, is participating in a National Quality Forum panel devoted to developing quality measures for outpatient care.The invited panel convened about a year ago with members meeting regularly in Washington, D.C., to review and analyze measures for bone and joint diseases. The suggested measures will be published soon.
Brehm said serving on the panel was enlightening.
“The group is quite impressive, not only because of their backgrounds but also because of their contributions to the process of finding usable measures,” said Brehm, who is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
He is also a Member of the American Medical Association, the West Virginia State Medical Society, and the American College of Medical Quality.
The National Quality Forum (NQF) is a not-for-profit membership organization created in 1999 to develop and implement a national strategy for health care quality measurement and reporting.
