Wiesendanger, Jones Make Presentations at Conference

Charleston, WV - WVMI and Quality Insights leadership were invited to make three presentations at the Connecting Communities for Better Health Second Annual Learning Forum and Resource Exhibition May 23-26 in Washington, D.C.

WVMI Chief Executive Office John Wiesendanger delivered two of the presentations. In a learning session devoted to the principles, strategies and solutions of establishing an electronic health initiative, he examined the initiatives in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware. In a separate forum on organizational and legal issues, Wiesendanger discussed developing organization and governance models for health information exchange.

Quality Insights of Pennsylvania Chief Operating Officer Dan Jones, meanwhile, took part in a forum on multi-stakeholder collaboration where he spoke about the Pennsylvania eHealth Initiative, illustrating strategies for bringing diverse stakeholders together to collaborate on initiatives to implement health information technology and exchanges.

The conference was sponsored by the Foundation for eHealth Initiative (eHI), The American Health Quality Association (AHQA) and the Public Health Data Standards Consortium (PHDSC). At the Forum, leading innovators from across the country shared their strategies to convert antiquated paper-based medical records to a modern electronic model.
