Projects - Onsite medical record reviewFor nearly 20 years, WVMI has been a leader in on-site electronic medical record review. We have developed a sophisticated process for collecting medical information, analyzing it and producing meaningful reports to guide government agency, health plan or provider quality improvement and assurance efforts. Our expertise includes:

  • Developing quality guidelines and indicators
  • Translating those guidelines into collection instruments
  • Creating software and systems to actually collect the data
  • Recruiting and training qualified abstractors
  • Managing the abstraction schedule and collection process
  • Assuring the validity of the information collected
  • Producing meaningful data and reports
  • Continuously improving processes

From small studies to large nationwide samples, WVMI can assist. On behalf of one major federal contractor, for example, WVMI collects and reviews information from 300,000 records per year. On a previous project, WVMI abstracted approximately 150,000 records per year from medical facilities worldwide.
